Reading Comprehension "The Catcher in the Rye"
1) How does the narrator feel?
He feels that he's not part of the society, he's not very comfortable with the school, his brother, his parents.
"... Now he's in Hollywood, D.B., being a prostitute..."
In this phrase Holden says that he's not very positive with the society and what is thi making to D.B., his brother. he says that he's being a prostitute, in other words he`s selling himself to the system. (THE LESSON OF THIS IS NEVER TRUST THE SYSTEM)
2)What does the conversation between Holden and Mr Spence symbolize?
Symbolizes what Holden thinks about his future
"...I feel some concern for my future, all right. Sure. Sure, I do. But not too much, I guess..."
This conversation with Mr Spencer made Holden think about his future, and old Spencer says that he will, very suspcious in my opinion, and Holden says that that answer made him depressed, he also says that sounds like he was going to die or something, suspicious....
